Lions Eye Bank of Wisconsin Cabinet Report

The Lions Eye Bank of Wisconsin has seen some improvements over the past few months. In late fall a wooden storage shed was placed on site. This will be used for storage of outside maintenance tools as well as storage of other items that cannot be stored within the LEBW building. This winter an electric generator was installed which will provide electric power to the lab in times of outages from MG&E. It will insure that all refrigeration units and the lab's computer system will continue to operate during times of electrical outages.

The Capital Campaign continues and you generous donations are gladly accepted. We are currently over the $90,000 mark but still have a long way to go to reach out $1.3 million goal. If you know of an individual or business that would be interested in making a donation, please contact one of the Eye Bank Directors who can assist in providing information to prospective donors.

We are asking all of you to promote eye tissue donations. Donations from Wisconsin are not meeting our current needs and we must secure tissue fro other Eye Banks. There are additional processing costs involved when this is required and this is not good for our bottom line. Let me remind you that I have a banner and plenty or orange donor dots that you can use for any of your community fund raisers or projects to educate the public of our mission. If you are looking for a program on the Eye Bank, all Directors now have a DVD presentation that can be made at your club meetings. Give us a call and we will be happy to accommodate your needs.
